Wedding March

Wedding March, 18"

Aaaaaah, this one seemed to take forever! Twelve paw blocks to piece before the actual block could be assembled.

Mother's Dream

Mother's Dream, 18"

This is one huge block! It will for sure be the centerpiece in whatever quilt it becomes part of.

I dunno -- this sure looks like Bear Paw to me.

Aunt Dinah

Aunt Dinah, 9"

I like this block -- it's a classic old pattern. Back to my dull purple fabrics again, though. I need to add something to this color group to add a little zing.

Cotton Reels

Cotton Reels, a boring 8" block. This one is sort of a "cheater." It was exhumed from last year's attempt at B-a-D, so I'm reusing it instead of making another one. Making use of last year's blocks will happen several times during January and February, and then I'll be moving on into brand-new territory.

And now we're working in the purple color set -- so that's four different fabric groups this week. I don't have much selection in my purple stash tub, so the purple blocks are rather uninspired -- old, dated fabrics for the most part. But another donation quilt will eventually be created, and perhaps my purple tub will get replenished at some point along the way. There are only a few more purple blocks coming up any time soon, and they're all being recycled from last year, so I'll have a chance to figure out where I'm headed with this color group.

And this concludes Week 1!
