This was my favorite Valentine block in the B-a-D series. It's also been used in Cherry Cordial.

Friendship Star

Friendship Star, 6"
Throughout the year, there are blocks that are very multi-colored/scrappy which won't exactly go with any of the planned color groups. They'll be in a catch-all Multicolored group of their own.

Oklahoma Boomer

Oklahoma Boomer, 6"

This funny little guy is a block I unearthed from last year's B-a-D effort.

There will be three different red-white-and-blue block sets accumulating this year -- a classic bright red white and blue set, a more muted one using vintage style fabrics, and a third that will all use the same mini patchwork background. Today's block kicks off the classic set.

Darting Birds

Darting Birds, 6"

Later in spring there will be a series of garden-themed blocks. I'm going to do them in 30s repros. This little bird will find a place in the garden.

Spools

Another one in the REAL EASY 6" category!
I've had enough of the snowflake fabric for now, so today begins a new color group: teals, aquas and greens. Again, I'll be using a unifying fabric for all the backgrounds.

Snowball

Snowball, a very easy 6" block to get started with.

I'm going to follow the same color combination each day as the block presented on the calendar page. I've done some planning ahead to see what blocks can eventually be combined into quilts, and I've organized and bagged up color bundles to work from. I'll be doing the first group of "blue and light" blocks with a snowflake background fabric as a unifier. By the end of the year, there will be close to 30 color groups going! Next year I'll be ready to create quite a stack of quilts: a few for my own collection and many donation quilts!!
